What will homework be like in fourth grade?

Homework will be assigned on Mondays and will be due on Fridays.
A typical week's homework looks like this:
  • Nightly reading: 20 min.
  • Math Practice: approximately 10 min.

Are students required to read every night?

Yes. In addition to math, students are expected to read at least 20 minutes each night. Nightly reading can be...
  • reading independently
  • reading with a family member
  • listening to an audio book
  • online reading (such as on Epic, on Tumblebooks, Storyline Online, etc)
  • Magazines, newspapers, etc

If your child needs help finding books to read at night, please let me know. This year my classroom will be using a "book checkout app" to sign books out from our classroom library and bring home to read. I can surely help them find a book that's a good fit to enjoy at night! Just ask! :)
